According to the South African Weather Service, severe thunderstorms with strong winds, hail, excessive lightning, and heavy downpours are expected in the south-western parts of the North West and north-western parts of the Free State. The weather service has issued a warning for these areas, advising residents to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

Weather Forecast for North West

The severe thunderstorms are expected to bring significant rainfall to the affected areas, with some areas potentially receiving more than 50mm of rain in a short period. This could lead to flash flooding, which can be dangerous for motorists and pedestrians. The South African Weather Service has advised residents to stay indoors during the storm and to avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.

The weather service has also warned of strong winds, with gusts of up to 100km/h expected in some areas. This could lead to power outages and damage to property. Residents are advised to secure any outdoor furniture or decorations that could become projectiles in the strong winds.
