The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued warnings of severe thunderstorms in parts of the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, the North West and Gauteng, with heavy downpours, hail and damaging winds expected to lead to flooding and cause damage to property, infrastructure and livestock.
According to the SAWS, the severe thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain, with some areas receiving up to 50mm of rainfall in a short period of time.
