Nissan Navara Warrior Revealed at Nampo Harvest Day

Nissan South Africa has confirmed its presence at the Nampo Harvest Day in Bothaville, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural exhibition, where it will showcase its current line-up and several heritage vehicles from its collection, including one-off models developed by its South African racing division.

The company’s participation in the event reflects its continued focus on the South African market and the agricultural sector, where Nissan has had a presence for more than 60 years through its pick-up range. As Statistics South Africa notes, the agricultural sector remains a significant contributor to the local economy and rural communities.

Nissan’s Commitment to the Agricultural Sector

Ramy Mohareb, head of communications, brand and customer experience for Nissan Africa, said the agricultural sector remains an important contributor to the local GDP and forms the backbone of many local communities. “Nissan’s participation in the Nampo Harvest Day reflects an enduring partnership with the farming community, built on a local heritage of more than 60 years, an understanding of what it means to work the land, and a range of vehicles engineered to match that dedication.”

The Nissan Navara Warrior, developed in partnership with Premcar, will form part of Nissan’s display at Nampo. It will be joined by other models from the Navara range, which Nissan says has been engineered with both agricultural and lifestyle applications in mind. The Navara is built around a fully boxed frame and uses a dual-rate coil rear suspension setup, and has been engineered to tow 3.5 tons and carry payloads of 1.1 tons, depending on the model derivative.

Key Features of the Nissan Navara Warrior

Some of the key features of the Nissan Navara Warrior include:

  • A 2.5-litre diesel engine producing 140kW and 450Nm
  • A powertrain calibrated to improve towing stability and durability in local operating conditions
  • A fully boxed frame and dual-rate coil rear suspension setup
  • A towing capacity of 3.5 tons and a payload capacity of 1.1 tons

Nissan says its dealer network provides customers with access to aftermarket support and servicing, with the company claiming that most customers are within 25 minutes of a dealership. As the Western Cape Government notes, access to reliable and efficient transportation is critical for the agricultural sector.</p)
