Mark Randall, a 63-year-old dedicated firefighter and father of three, is receiving an outpouring of community support following a cancer diagnosis. For years, Vredekloof resident Randall made sure his children never felt the weight of their struggles, often sacrificing his own comfort to provide for them.

As a long-serving member of Volunteer Wildfire Services, Randall has spent decades helping his community, and now the community is coming together to support him. A Backabuddy campaign, launched by his children, friends, and fellow firefighters, has raised over R102 000 in just four days.

Randall’s daughter, Corné Randall-Strydom, says her father has always prioritized others, often at great personal cost. He has spent his life working tirelessly to support his family, and has dedicated over 20 years to Volunteer Wildfire Services, serving as a crew leader and driver.
