THE REAL REASON PITSO MOSIMANE IS A “REGULAR” AT KAIZER CHIEFS

Whenever the legendary Pitso “Jingles” Mosimane is seen driving through the gates of the Kaizer Chiefs Village, the Amakhosi faithful immediately go into a frenzy. With the club currently under the interim guidance of Cedric Kaze following a rocky start to the 2026 season, rumors of a “done deal” for the most decorated coach in South Africa have once again reached a fever pitch.

However, despite the viral social media posts suggesting an imminent appointment, the real reason for Pitso’s frequent visits to Naturena is far more personal than professional.

The “Rea” Connection

In a candid interview with Goal.com and Radio 2000, Mosimane finally cleared the air, explaining that his presence at the Village has nothing to do with taking over the hot seat—at least for now.

  • A Proud Father: Pitso’s son, Reatlegile “Rea” Mosimane, is currently a rising star in the Kaizer Chiefs youth structures.
  • The “Every Second Week” Routine: Mosimane revealed that he is at Naturena “physically every second week” to support his son’s development. “I’m there to watch Rea play. I’m just a parent at the stadium like everyone else,” he stated.
  • Facilities Praise: Pitso has never hidden his admiration for the Naturena facilities, famously calling them “the best on the continent” during a previous visit with Al Ahly. This respect for the infrastructure fuels the constant speculation that he belongs there.

“I Don’t Apply For Jobs”

While he is a frequent guest, Mosimane was quick to remind the football fraternity that his presence doesn’t mean he is chasing the job.

“At the point I am in my career, I don’t apply for jobs. If a team has a proper project and a clear plan, they must pick up the phone and call me,” Mosimane told Scrolla.Africa.

He emphasized that while he is open to a project in South Africa, his current focus remains on his Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools (PMSS) and potentially a national team role, with his sights set on leading a team to a future World Cup or AFCON.

The State of the Chiefs Dugout

The rumors are intensified by the current “caretaker” status of the Chiefs technical team. Since the departure of Nasreddine Nabi late in 2025, the club has lacked a permanent figurehead.

  • Caretaker Control: Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze are currently holding the fort, but fans remain restless as the trophy drought continues.
  • The “Sundowns Return” Twist: Adding more fuel to the fire, recent reports suggest that Mosimane’s camp has been in contact with Mamelodi Sundowns for a potential shock return to Chloorkop, further complicating the “Jingles to Chiefs” narrative.

The Verdict

For now, Kaizer Chiefs fans seeing Pitso Mosimane at Naturena should temper their expectations. He isn’t there to sign a contract; he’s there to cheer on the next generation of Mosimane talent. However, as “Jingles” himself often says in football, “anything is possible” if the project is right.
