A dramatic police operation in Hillcrest has resulted in the deaths of two murder suspects, who were wanted in connection with at least four murder cases. According to KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Robert Netshuinda, officers acted on intelligence that the suspects were hiding at a residence in KwaNgcolosi.
The police located the suspects at a rondavel where they were sleeping, and a shootout broke out when officers approached the premises. The two suspects were shot and fatally wounded during the exchange of fire, SAPS confirmed.

The suspects were linked to at least four murder cases within the Hillcrest policing precinct, including a recent double murder involving an 84-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl. The police have not released the names of the suspects or the victims, but have confirmed that the cases are being investigated.
