CTIJF 2026: 10 Acts at Rosies Stage, No Surcharge

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) is set to thrill audiences with an exciting lineup of 10 acts at the Rosies Stage, including jazz legend Abdullah Ibrahim, all at no extra cost. This year’s Rosies Stage promises to be a highlight of the festival, with its intimate setting and refined access system ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

According to the festival organizers, the CTIJF has introduced a new access system to manage crowd control and safety at the Rosies and Moses Molelekwa venues. Tickets can be purchased at the Ground Level Ticket Stand, where a strict one-ticket-per-person policy will be enforced. Each ticket is valid for the current show and the following one, ensuring that all attendees have an equal opportunity to enjoy the performances.

How Rosies and Moses Molelekwa Will Work

Guests can enter the Rosies Stage through the staircase located next to the Coffee Shop or via the escalator leading towards Moses. Ushers will be on hand to verify tickets at the entrance, while security personnel will monitor live capacity to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. A unique 16-Minute Rule governs entry to Rosies: if guests leave before the 16th minute of a performance, standby attendees may enter on a one-in-one-out basis.

The Moses Molelekwa Stage, known for its higher capacity, will continue to operate under its 30-Minute Window system, allowing rotation until the 30-minute mark of each performance before doors close. VIP guests do not need to queue at the Ground Level Ticket Stand, as a dedicated ticket allocation is available within the respective VIP zone. VIPs can enjoy streamlined fast-track lanes at the venue entrance, though all entries remain subject to capacity limits for safety.

Risk and Disaster Management Strategies

The CTIJF has also reinforced its risk and disaster management strategies, including a “hold-and-release” system at escalators to prevent congestion, a double-clicker system to ensure legal occupancy, and clear signage at ticket stands to communicate when shows are sold out or at capacity. Emergency protocols ensure escalators can be treated as fixed stairs, and separate queuing lanes reduce the risk of conflict between VIP and general admission audiences. As noted on the Wikipedia page on disaster management, effective planning and management are crucial in minimizing risks and ensuring a safe experience for all.

Some of the key acts to look out for at the Rosies Stage include:

  • Abdullah Ibrahim
  • Other notable jazz musicians

The CTIJF invites audiences to immerse themselves in the magic of Rosies and Moses Molelekwa stages, where music, safety, and atmosphere come together in perfect harmony.
